Slippery When Wet!!!!!!!!!!

Jan is happier than she can express in words to be at the tailgate in the rain!
This photo is documented proof she was actually present!
Not even rain could keep Marsha from her Tiger debut!
Our neighboring tailgaters worked diligently to avoid a devastating flood.
Our gourmets may be wet, but they are still happy to be here!
The BATTers all lent one hand to keep the tent in tact. The other hand was firmly attached to their cocktails.

John took on a little water in his attempt to save the tent.

Mother Nature did all she could to soak the BATTers fun on Saturday. However, the tiger spirit of our devoted krewe would not be squashed! Even Marsha braved the elements to join us for some fun. The BATTers thought they were protected from the rain by their trusty tents, however strong winds made keeping the tents staked difficult at times. Needless to say, if the wind was strong enough to uproot a tree on Nicholson Drive, our tents were no match! However, the Krewe of BATT was not to be denied their tailgate fun! Drastic steps were taken to ensure the safety of all alcohol, and no one really cared about dry napkins anyway! It takes a lot more than a little rain to dampen our tiger spirit!

SEC Officiating at it's WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As I stared in utter disbelief as the referees bungled call after call at the LSU/Auburn game, I thought of what official statement our loyal Krewe would likely make. I feel as though I need to express that we are deeply disturbed and highly pissed off at the absurdly ridiculous officiating. Let it be known that Paul, powered by innumerable liquid beverages, was so distraught with the blatant cheating, he fired off an angry email to the head of the SEC. Unfortunately, due to afore mentioned beverages, he does not recollect who he sent the email to, or what it says. However, we feel certain it eloquently stated his displeasure with certain calls. Stay tuned to see if our Paul is incarcerated for drunken threats of bodily harm! Not withstanding some missed opportunites, we were robbed! Auburn SUCKS! They can't even decide on a mascot! Auburn SUCKS and we were robbed.......END OF STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marsha Loves Us -- Even Visitors Love Us

Jim & Jane:

Just wanted to thank you again for the hospitality that you guys showed us relocated Buckeyes. The weekend was great and a good time was had by all. Myron, Kurt, and I have been to quite a few football games over the years – but I myself have not quite experienced anything quite like your tailgate. The Tigers sure do know how to make people feel welcome. Hope we can rendezvous again soon. I may see you in Gainesville , but I’m not sure I can make it yet. Please tell Everyone in the group that we really appreciated how welcome that you made us feel. Go Tigers! Go Buckeyes! Go Falcons! (ie: BGSU).

Sincerely,

Todd

He Who Laughs Last.......

The Tall Ant Killer, fresh off his banishment from the nosebleed seats, returned to his seat of solitude on the first row. Lucky for him, a few of his friends stopped by to comfort him in his time of need. Word on the street is, he is feeling MUCH better!

From the Arizona Daily Star (Tucson)

They must have come by our tailgate!

See it, believe it
• We were overwhelmed all week by talk of LSU's culture of tailgating. Blah. Blah. Blah. How much different can it be than at Oregon and Washington , the Pac-10's standard-setters for tailgating? The answer is … THIS MUCH. It lived up to the talk. A one-mile radius of Tiger Stadium was bumper-to-bumper, tent-to-tent tailgating, from sunup to kickoff. Awesome.

"Jojo left … "
• To jack up the huge crowd at Tiger Stadium, Garth Brooks "Callin' Baton Rouge" was played moments before the game. It was a 100-jolt energy boost. A few minutes later, Don Williams' "Louisiana Saturday Night" rocked over the loud PA system. Arizona had no answer. What could the Wildcats ask to be played? The Beatles' "Get Back?" "Jojo left his home in Tucson , Arizona , … get back to where you once belonged."

Tigers and BATTers are a SUCCESS!

For the second week in a row, the Tigers were awesome, as was the Krewe of BATT tailgate. Notable moments:

John “the Mouth” Sills giving away “close, free parking” tips
Visiting Yankees that were woo-ed, wowed, and totally impressed
The awesome new fryer --- bring on the Twinkies!
Joe Mike NOT dumping nachos on the person sitting in front of him at the game
A well deserved rest for Jane and Linda’s ears
Brian joining the Big Batts in the upper deck
Lots and lots of purple and gold Jello shots
Heather doing a super job of taking pictures of everyone and posting them on the blog so quickly
Jan coming early and sticking around for quite a while (however, we did miss you licking Mr. Bill)
Jean and Jerry joining us for the first time – great to have Mike and Darilyn, too!

MARSHA – WE NEED YOU!

· To keep Jane and Linda sane in the stadium (did we ever think we would say that???
· To uphold your position of “Top Imbiber”
· To keep your husband in line (the discovery of the blender, tequila, and margarita mix was scary)
· To wake your husband up in the 3rd quarter
· To keep our group intact!
· To keep us on our toes trying to keep you out of the jello shots
· To help us BAM!!!

BATTers Prepare to Get Wild!

As the hangover from the last tailgate has finally begun to cease for some of our beloved BATTers, we turn our attention to next Saturday's tailgate and, of course, the Wildcats. It will be difficult to top the fun of last week, however I feel certain we are up to the challenge! Come one, come all.....come early! The game starts 5:30. Here is the menu for this week's extravaganza:

BREAKFAST:
Mimosas
Bloody Marys
Fun Juice and Hooch ( hurry and claim yours before the drunk ant killer drinks it all!!!!!!!!)
Jambalaya grits

It's a FRY FEST at the BATT Tailgate!
Cajun Eggrolls
Catfish
Oysters
PLUS: SURPRISES!
You name it.........our gourmet plans to fry it!!!!!!!!!
(Careful you don't stand in one place for too long)

Thanks to our gourmets for all their hard work. I mean, what would the BATTers do, if they had to cook their own food?! Imagine how overserved many of our fellow tailgaters would be, if not for the constant barage of delicious delicacies offered to us? Hat's off to the makers of the jello shots. They were a huge hit!
Time will only tell what excitement awaits! Will the tall ant killer be banished to his single seat, or will Jane and Linda have the priviledge of sitting with him again? Will our tailgate once again provide the "eye candy" for our neighbors? Will we witness any older ladies wearing innapropriate outfits? Who will the be the next BATTer to shame themselves after being overserved? Only time, and mass quantities of alcohol will tell!!

Need we say more?
Welcome home, you
